So you recently bought a small-batch salt blend - congrats (and thanks!) Your cooking (and eating) experience is about to go up a notch. Here are a few tips on how to use each of the different salt blends in your everyday cooking.
Rule of thumb: A little goes a long way with Kosher salt blends so a pinch or two will generally be enough to season your food. Remember, you can always add more later, but can never subtract!
Everyday Blend: This blend is great for everyday cooking. I leave it on my counter as my go-to and season eggs, veggies, rice, fish and meats with it. If you’re seasoning something heartier, like a steak, take it out of the fridge and season the meat on both sides with 2-3 pinches of salt and a drizzle of olive oil. Let it sit/marinate to room temp before cooking.
Zesty Blend: The perfect seasoning for breakfast. I like to lightly season my eggs and avocado with this blend. It’s also great on dry chicken wings (season before cooking), meat for tacos (chicken/beef/pork), shrimp, salmon and veggies. Try seasoning ribs with 1/2 tablespoon of Zesty, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.
Rosemary-Lemon Blend: A crowd pleaser (if your love rosemary!) Great for seasoning a whole chicken (or any chicken), steak, fish (especially salmon), roasted or grilled veggies, and soups.
